Black Light Raises the Bar with New Dance School Floor
Black Light has project managed the installation of a versatile new dance floor at one of Scotland’s leading independent dance schools. Our team was commissioned by the Yvonne Gray Dance School to revamp the flooring at its Cupar Studio. We chose a Rosco Adagio system as this provided the perfect balance between cost and performance. The project shows how we can work with small and medium-sized companies to provide high quality and value for money.

What we did
We liaised with the client to clarify their needs and requirements. Once the project brief had been finalized, we specified and procured the required products.Rosco floors need specialist installation. On behalf of the client we found a local installer who could undertake the necessary thread welding work at the required standard and cost required by the client. We oversaw the installation of the floor to ensure a high-quality finished product.
Result
As an accredited distributor for Rosco products we had the expertise to specify and source the right flooring product for the dance studio. The project was turned around on time and on budget and the dance school was very happy with the service and support we provided. Future generations of young (and not so young) Scottish dancers will now be able to benefit from this wonderful new facility.Feedback

The Venue
The Yvonne Gray Dance School was established in 1989 and has gained a reputation as one of the finest schools in Scotland. The studio in Short Lane, Cupar, opened in 2004 and comprises two dance studios, changing facilities, a shop and a café area. Today the school has 3 branches and offers over 100 classes per week aimed at all ages and all abilities.Equipment
The Rosco Adagio floor is an extremely versatile and durable product. It is recommended for tap but its nonreflective, controlled slip vinyl surface makes it equally successful as a ballet, modern and jazz floor. Because it is dimensionally stable it can be permanently installed using Rosco adhesives for long-term use.
