Black Light has recruited a well-known face from the backstage world of Scotland’s theatre to front it customer relations work. Claire Sodergren (formally Bromhead) brings with her experience working as a freelance lighting and sound engineer for companies such as the National Theatre of Scotland and with the Edinburgh International Festival. She is already working with old and new clients to review and improve Black Light’s services and product offering.
“I knew about Black Light ‘from the other side’ as a customer, so I’m perfectly placed to understand our clients’ challenges nd requirements and so help Black Light respond,” says Claire who joined the company to provide maternity cover in a sales capacity, but who has only recently taken up her new permanent job.
Claire is settling into her new role quickly. Her duties involve meeting and talking with existing clients to review how Black Light is performing and to meet new clients to discuss how Black Light can help them. “This is great place to work as the whole team is really knowledgeable and committed to providing great service, which makes my job a lot easier!” Claire says, adding that feedback on Black Light has, so far, been overwhelmingly positive.
Claire’s appointment marks another move in Black Light’s mission to provide the best service possible to its customers. “I am really excited about Claire’s appointment as it will allow us to move forward more strongly than in the past and make real and meaningful improvements in the services we supply and the way we work,” says Phil Haldane, Black Light’s Business Development Manager, who also manages its marketing. “The whole ethos of Black Light is to be on the same wavelength as our customers and Claire’s appointment is proof that we are putting our money where our mouth is. We are committed to continually improving what we do and good customer relations is central to this goal.”
