Schools in Perth and Kinross can now enjoy state-of-the-art cinema and theatre equipment thanks to an innovative
collaboration between the lighting, stage, sound and AV company, Black Light and the biggest construction company in the UK, Laing O’Rourke. The £1m project highlights Black Light’s technical expertise and the importance it places on consultation. Thanks to the skill of the company’s installation team, five schools are now enjoying exceptional new facilities and a sixth school is due to have its equipment installed by the end of the year.

An innovative lighting scheme based on a system used by American fire and rescue trucks will provide the finishing touch to the refurbishment of one of Edinburgh’s most famous landmark buildings. The system, designed by Edinburgh-based lighting company Black Light, comprises fourteen lamps that will illuminate the upper level and copper dome of the Usher Hall. The new lights will be hidden when not in use and will be deployed using a system of pneumatic masts like those used on the roofs of emergency vehicles in the USA.
