Lead sponsor for the Federation of Scottish Theatre’s Winter School
For the second year in a row, we are acting as a leading sponsor for the Federation of Scottish Theatre’s (FST) Technical Winter School. This takes place at the Pitlochry Festival Theatre between the 21st and 23rd February 2012. We are supporting the high-profile event both financially and practically and have teamed up with a number of our key suppliers to deliver three days of technical training.
“We are delighted to be able to support this exciting event,” says Customer Relations, Manager, Claire Södergren who is going to attend the event with colleagues Phil Haldane, Head of Company Development, and Craig Collin, our Technical Manager. “This is a really exciting opportunity for us to meet old friends and to help people in the industry get to grips with some of the most exciting new technology around.”
Over the duration of the event we will be running a series of demonstrations of new lighting desks, moving lights and LED fixtures, as well as sessions covering working and rigging at height in the entertainment industry. “We are also really excited to be working with Matt Padden from the National Theatre of Scotland on a session looking at QLab live performance software,” adds Claire.
The Technical Winter School is widely recognized as one of the most exciting and innovative training events in the Scottish Theatre calendar. A huge range of courses for technicians, stage managers, designers and managers is on offer. According to the FST participants can book to come along to one session or many. There will also be the opportunity to join in topical discussion sessions at lunchtime each day, alongside various informal evening get-togethers. A number of the sessions are free and special discounted Winter School rates apply.
The Federation of Scottish Theatre advances the interests of professional Scottish theatre and dance at home and abroad. With over 120 members, the FST brings the sector together to speak with a collective voice, to share resources and expertise and to promote collaborative working.
